[remove the debris]

I continue to use my General Conference journal. This page is not that exciting but it will help me to remember President Nelson's words.

[study journal]

When I study the gospel, I like to keep a study journal. I'm a very visual person so pictures help me remember things.
I purchased a new notebook just for General Conference.
In Relief Society, we will be discussing Elder Teixeira's talk so I started my journaling with his talk. I had to leave some pages empty at the beginning of the notebook for President Nelson's messages. The prophet's message needs to be the first in the notebook in my humble opinion.
Anyways, this kind of journaling makes studying more fun and for sure you'll remember things better than if you just read.

[General Conference quote pages]

This week my Sunday School lesson is on what we can learn from living prophets and apostles. President Nelson's talk about revelation has been added to my favorite General Conference talks list for sure. We will be studying his talk in detail in class and this handout will help the youth to jot down the things they need to remember.
What an amazing time we live in - we can listen to General Conference from our phones wherever we are! While getting ready in the morning, while driving, while doing chores (I put my phone in the pocket of my hoodie, now I don't get bored cleaning the house)...
So easy to make every day a spiritual feast!

[October 2017 General Conference quotes]

I was asked to do one of the bulletin boards in the church hallway long time ago. I finally got around switching the quotes. Need to do it more often. I think it's important that those who are in the hallway for one reason or another (noisy kids...) have something uplifting to read.

[October 2016 General Conference printables]

I'm updating the hallway bulletin board at church with quotes from the October General Conference.
These would work well as visiting teaching message printables for November as well.

[Where love is, there God is also]

So beautiful! Our Church's famous Mormon Tabernacle Choir sings "Where Love Is" hymn.

[God's love can conquer any darkness!]

Two times a year, our Church holds a General Conference during which the Church leaders share inspiring talks. I loved this talk particularly. Such a powerful testimony that God's love & light are stronger than any possible darkness. Such an uplifting talk!

"Healing comes when we move away from darkness and walk toward the hope of brighter light."

I've gone through some very difficult times in my life. The gospel has healed it all! I don't need to dwell on the terrible things that I went through. I can choose to walk in the light instead. There is no need to analyze every little detail of trials we've gone through. If you just let God in your life, His perfect light is there to chase away any darkness. It works better than any kind of therapy.

"God's light is real. It is available to all... It has the power to soften the sting of the deepest wound."

"Isn't it wonderful to know that we don't have to be perfect to experience the blessings and gifts of our Heavenly Father?"

"The darkness will surely fade because it cannot exist in the presence of light."

[general conference for kids]

Some fun things to do with children before General Conference:

We just did these games in Activity Days and the girls loved it! Especially the "Don't Eat the Prophet!" game because it involved candy.

The girls also loved this coloring page:
